On February 11th, 2017, the opening of the second Holistic Water Project initiative was conducted Chiapas – Oaxaca, in agreement with Healing Waters International (HWI), Nazarene Compassion Ministries (NCM) and the Church of the Nazarene. This was held in the “El Arenal” Church of the Nazarene in Huixtla, Chiapas, Mexico South Border District.

The project consists of providing the community with suitable water for human consumption, through a purification plant, in addition to sharing hygiene and health talks. One of the main objectives is for the church to become involved and to attend to the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of the community.

The agreement consists of implementing about 150 projects in the next 5 or 6 years, in different districts of the country. The model has 3 elements, the first is the implementation of a state-of-the-art purification equipment, the second is the implementation of a Bible-based health program for children and women, and the third is a business model that ensures that the project is self sustainable.

Mr. Guillermo Saldaña, pastor of the local church said that community water is unfit for consumption, most people buy clean water, so the project will be a great blessing for people with low incomes.

The inauguration took place with Mr. Edi Montejo, México NCM Coordinator, Mr. Sebastián Ovando, México HWI Director, Mr. Guillermo Saldaña, pastor of the local church and people of the community.

Pray for this and other projects to help the communities of our Mesoamerica Region, so that more and more people can know the love and compassion of Jesus.
