It was presented by Monte Cyr, the Mesoamerica Region Discipleship Coordinator. The topic was “Today Matters” from the EQUIP notebook “Million Leaders Mandate”, volume 2, notebook 1.

47 leaders from the 11 districts of the Nazarene Church of Haiti gathered together for these training sessions. District and National leaders of NYI, NMI and SDMI studied the 12 major decisions of Attitude, Priorities, Health, Family, Thoughts, Commitment, Finances, Faith, Relations, Generosity, Values and Growth. These themes attracted considerable interest among the audience that spent many hours thinking and sharing ideas about these different points.

Rev. Monte Cyr, the speaker of these training sessions on leadership in Haiti for the last 7 years, presided over the sessions and didn’t only answer questions, but also allowed everyone to share their ideas in debates that allowed the participation of every one. In the afternoon of Sunday, August 18, we attended a presentation on the subject: “A Church Motivated by the essentials” presented by a Switzerland trainer. Several leaders and youth from the congregation “Foyer Chretien” and Living Stone Ministries joined us as, we had blessed time together.

Part of the training was organized around the concept of leadership as an introspective – perspective looking time, especially since it is a challenge to our walk with God and our responsibilities as ministers and leaders. The training was therefore necessary to provide to the leaders what is essential for the progress of the Churches and as well the spiritual and intellectual development of the participants.

We thank God for having allowed again a time to Haitian leaders to continue these training sessions on leadership. Our thanks also go to Rev. Monte Cyr, who for seven consecutive years has devoted time to training us. We thank Pastor Pierre Ornan Audain, the French Field NYI coordinator for his dedication and translation. Thanks also to our two other translators, Marc Versil and Pastor Pierre Ernst Jacques, and all the leaders who had made the effort to make possible the effectiveness of this training.
