A new Church of the Nazarene called Monte de Los Olivos was officially organized in the community of San Pablo Xucaneb in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala.

Monte de Los Olivos becomes the 113th congregation on the Verapaz North district in Guatemala. The church is composed of 150 congregants and their senior pastor, Pablo Botzoc.

Before the organizing service on May 14, Carlos Cucul, pastor of the “mother” church Central de San Juan Chamelco, joined by leaders and members of the new congregation proceeded through the main streets of the community. Later they entered the sanctuary to begin the special service of celebration and organization.

During the organizing service was attended by special representatives of the District Advisory Committee and the district superintendent, Francisco Cho.
After the ceremony, there was a time of devotions where Superintendent Cho preached about the Sermon on the Mount. Later he invited the 95 members and the Advisory Committee into a time of prayer and consecration to the Lord.

“We give the Glory to God for this new church which is the 113th on the North Verapaz district of the Church of the Nazarene,” said Cho.
