The Church of the Nazarene of Jayuya Pueblo, in Puerto Rico, inaugurated on March 26, 2022, a center or physical site for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. This will help improve the functioning of the ministry and the availability of resources to serve your community.

Equipment such as wheelchairs, cots, clothing storage, along with other donations that the church received, as well as food and basic necessities, and more, will be properly stored in the premises.

The site is located on the property of the church, and previously served as a parking lot which they have remodeled and adapted.

The pastor of the jayuya church, Noel Román said that, since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of families seeking help for different needs has been increasing, so he presented to the local board the project for the preparation of the site.

The place was named, Norma Rodríguez Rivera, in memory of the wife of Pastor Román, who approximately 8 months ago went to be with the Lord. The church wanted to name it this way because Pastor Norma had a great passion for helping needy families in both the church and the community.

Compassionate ministries has been an essential part of the faith community in Jayuya. For many years the church has served compassionately according to the needs that have arisen in their community, they have shared food, delivered donations to meet basic needs such as water and electricity for different homes, given contributions to buy medicines, among many other expressions of love for neighbor.

The church also offers guidance to families about other citizen support services provided by government agencies and non-profit agencies, serving as liaison and support to the community.
