IGNITE 2025, the first in-person Caribbean Field NDI Conference, was a powerful gathering of district presidents, local NDI leaders, pastors, and believers committed to advancing purposes of Nazarene Discipleship and the Kingdom of God in the Caribbean. Held at the Gospel Deliverance Ministries Centre in Penal, Trinidad and Tobago, from April 22 to 27, 2025, the conference was a spirit-filled event that fostered fellowship, discipleship, and leadership development among the 50 delegates who made the sacrifice to attend.
A Spirit-Led Gathering
The conference opened with a dynamic time of worship that set the tone for a week of spiritual renewal and empowerment. Our keynote speaker, global NDI director, Dr. Sam Barber, who attended along with his wife Jill, shared biblical insights on strengthening faith communities and expanding the reach of the Gospel. The atmosphere was charged with prayer, praise, and a deep hunger for revival.
Sessions and Workshops
IGNITE 2025 featured a diverse range of sessions designed to equip attendees with biblical wisdom and practical strategies for NDI ministry. Some of the standout sessions included:
- Implementing CUPS: A review of the field strategic children’s ministry initiative
- Successful Program Planning: An insight into successful strategic planning
- Implementing Children’s Quizzing: Exploring the benefits of children’s quizzing
- MLM Level One – Book 1: The John Maxwell Leaders Development Program
Faith and Fellowship
Beyond the structured discussions, IGNITE 2025 was a time of deep fellowship. Attendees shared testimonies, prayed together, and built lasting connections with fellow believers from across the Caribbean. The conference also embraced Caribbean culture, incorporating worship through music, dance, and spoken-word performances, reflecting the joy and vibrancy of faith in the region.
Impact and Reflections
As IGNITE 2025 concluded, participants left spiritually refreshed and inspired, and ready to take what they had learned back to their churches and NDI ministries. Among other things, IGNITE 2025 Conference attendees were able to:
- Refine a strategic plan for the Caribbean Field NDI ministry
- Ratify a field NDI awards program to recognize long-serving stakeholders
- Honor 5 Caribbean Field NDI stalwarts for their impact and dedication (Rev. Monte Cyr, Clovis St. Romain, CindyAnn Collymore, Jeanafer Greaves, Althea Nelson-Clarke)
- Consider a proposal for a Caribbean Field children’s camp in 2026
The gathering also allowed delegates to foster new ministry partnerships, and provided a vision for the future of Discipleship Ministries on the Caribbean Field. A recurring theme was the critical nature of NDI and the urgency of fostering a revival of the ministry across the Caribbean Church through collective prayer and engagement of our pastoral leadership.
Final Thoughts
IGNITE 2025 was more than just a conference. It was a divine appointment. The gathering ignited a passion for ministry, deepened faith, and reinforced the importance of discipleship across the Church. As attendees departed, they carried with them a renewed commitment to spreading the Gospel, ensuring that the fire of IGNITE 2025 continues to burn brightly in the Caribbean and beyond.
