This Bible Study on Joshua, Judges, and Ruth<\/strong> is designed to inspire children who are ages 6-12 years old to understand the Bible as the story of God\u2019s redeeming love. Children celebrate what they learn through fun activities and interactive games. There are 20 lessons, and each lesson contains a scripture memory verse, truths about God, biblical background, faith words, teaching tips, and activities. These activities guide children to discover and apply God\u2019s truths to real-life situations.<\/p>\n

This study explains how God fulfilled his promise to Abraham. When Moses was near the end of\u00a0his life, God chose Joshua to lead the Israelites. Joshua led the 12 tribes of Israel to conquer the\u00a0Promised Land and to live in it. After Joshua\u2019s death the Israelites struggled to obey God. They\u00a0would obey, then disobey, and then suffer the consequences of disobedience. As the people suffered\u00a0by their unfaithful choices, God called judges to lead the Israelites to faithfully obey the Lord. This\u00a0study focuses on the judges Deborah, Gideon, and Samson. The story of Ruth takes place during this\u00a0time of suffering. Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz show God\u2019s love and compassion in the middle of difficult\u00a0circumstances. God blesses their faithfulness and redeems their circumstances. Ruth becomes the\u00a0great-grandmother of King David.<\/p>\n

Children’s Bible Quizzing – Activities<\/strong> consists of a series of games divided into the categories of memorization, reflection, arts and crafts, acting and music. (This is different than the traditional style of Children\u2019s Bible Quizzing using questions and answers.) Each of the games is related to, or has been adapted to, the subject of study. Each local church forms a team with 10 members 6 – 12 years old. This team will be prepared by a coach throughout the year, and participates in demonstrations (competitions) with other churches in which each team demonstrates what they have learned from the Bible through the games that they participate in. However, it should be clear that the goal is to learn the Word of God, not to compete. We trust that this attractive and experiential teaching will allow children to treasure the Word of God in their hearts and that \u201cthey will not depart from the right path\u201d even if they leave childhood behind.<\/p>\n

Thirdly, traditional Children\u2019s Bible Quizzing<\/strong> is an optional part of Bible Studies for Children. Each church and each child decides whether to participate in a series of competitive events using questions and answers. Quizzing events follow the rules outlined in this book. The purpose is not for children to compete against each other to determine a single winner or for churches to compete against each other to determine a winner. The purpose of Quizzing is to help the children determine what they learned about the Bible, to enjoy the competitive events, and to grow in the ability to display Christian attitudes and Christian behaviors during competitive events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
