After 13 years of service, the Genesis Project officially concluded its cycle in the Mesoamerica Region in August 2026, leaving a legacy of new works, organized churches, thousands of lives impacted, and a generation of missionaries mobilized to serve.<\/p>\n
The Genesis Project began its ministry in August 2013 as a Mesoamerica Region initiative focused on urban mission and church planting in places where the Church of the Nazarene had little or no presence, through the sending of missionary teams.<\/p>\n
The project began under the leadership of Scott and Emily Armstrong, who helped launch the initiative and led Genesis until mid-2024. At that time, Erika Chaves assumed coordination of the project and accompanied its final stage through its conclusion in August 2026.<\/p>\n

During the pandemic, the teams serving in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, and Monterrey, Mexico, had to adapt their ministry to the restrictions of the time, but they continued sharing God\u2019s love and working to plant churches.<\/p>\n
The Genesis legacy also remains in the lives of those who received the message of salvation and the care of missionary teams. In Santa Ana, El Salvador, some of the people reached through the project continue to receive follow-up even after this stage has concluded.<\/p>\n
Among them is Idalia, who received visits from Genesis missionaries and shared that through those encounters, God brought comfort, peace, and hope into her life.<\/p>\n
Albero Siliezar, also from Santa Ana, shared how the missionaries\u2019 ministry helped him reconnect with the church.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had gone for years without attending a church. Through them, I began drawing close again, but because of my age, it was difficult for me to attend in person. Their ministry here in my home and their prayers bore so much fruit that we are still reaping it today,\u201d Siliezar said.<\/p>\n
