{"id":84930,"date":"2025-10-15T10:23:45","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T16:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/?p=84930"},"modified":"2025-10-20T10:32:45","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T16:32:45","slug":"the-church-of-the-nazarene-is-organized-in-nuevo-cuscatlan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/en\/the-church-of-the-nazarene-is-organized-in-nuevo-cuscatlan\/","title":{"rendered":"The Church of the Nazarene Is Organized in Nuevo Cuscatl\u00e1n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Christ builds His Church, and His servants respond in obedience, love, and service.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Western District of El Salvador\u00a0<\/strong>formally recognizes the \u201cFraternidad Evang\u00e9lica\u201d congregation and welcomes <strong>15 new members<\/strong>, marking a key step forward for the Nazarene mission in <strong>La Libertad, El Salvador<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On June 29, 2025, in Nuevo Cuscatl\u00e1n (La Libertad, El Salvador), the organization service for the Church of the Nazarene in Nuevo Cuscatl\u00e1n, <strong>\u201cFraternidad Evang\u00e9lica,\u201d<\/strong> was held. With the presence of <strong>District Superintendent Rev. Nelson Valencia<\/strong>, district pastors, and members of the <strong>District Advisory Board<\/strong>, the congregation was <strong>officially organized<\/strong> and <strong>15 believers<\/strong> were received into membership. Approximately <strong>30 people<\/strong> attended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory and Gratitude<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The work <strong>began as a preaching point in June 2024<\/strong>, with the support of the Western District. One year later,<strong> on June 29, 2025<\/strong>, the <strong>organization service<\/strong> took place, which included: Scripture reading (Acts 2:40\u201347) led by Pastor Humberto Alf\u00e9rez, worship with Pastor Mario Romero, a welcome by Pastor Ar\u00edstides Figueroa, the sermon by District Superintendent Rev. Nelson Valencia, and the official ceremony introducing the pastoral team and local church board, as well as the <strong>reception of 15 members<\/strong>. Members of the <strong>District Advisory Board<\/strong> were also present.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>strong pastoral team<\/strong> undergirds the church\u2019s growth: Lead Pastor Humberto Alf\u00e9rez (over 30 years in the faith; former active member in Santa Tecla; B.A. in Theological Education, English teacher). He is married to Mirna de Alf\u00e9rez; they have two married children. The team also includes Administrative Pastor Ar\u00edstides Figueroa, Evangelism and Church Planting Pastor Mario Romero, and Youth Pastor and NYI President Andy Quinte\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Local church board members:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SDMI President: Hilda Lemus<\/li>\n<li>Treasurer: Hilda Lemus<\/li>\n<li>NMI President: Mirna de Alf\u00e9rez<\/li>\n<li>Secretary: Mirna de Alf\u00e9rez<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>(Note: SDMI = Sunday School &amp; Discipleship Ministries International; NMI = Nazarene Missions International; NYI = Nazarene Youth International.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fruit and Community Service<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The church is already serving <strong>beyond its walls<\/strong>. They offer <strong>English classes <\/strong>on Wednesdays and Fridays; on Saturdays they host <strong>sports activities<\/strong> (such as <strong>basketball<\/strong>) and run <strong>Nazagol<\/strong> on the nearby fields, with an <strong>average of 100 participants<\/strong>, integrating <strong>evangelism<\/strong> <strong>and spiritual care.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The immediate goal is to <strong>launch three discipleship groups<\/strong> in different parts of the city, multiplying pastoral care and strengthening a culture of <strong>evangelism, formation, and service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Let us pray that this organization will be the <strong>beginning of many testimonies of salvation and service<\/strong>.
