On September 3rd, the Church of the Nazarene of Moraz\u00e1n, Yoro,\u00a0Honduras visited the\u00a0 Calichal community,\u00a0where the Tolupan indigenous group is found. The visit was to bring the message of God\u2019s Word, to create connections, and to share a special time with the children. Some 40 families heard the message and even more families received clothing, shoes, kitchen utensils, coats, and more.<\/p>\n

Over a month ago, Jahleel Amador, pastor of the church, encouraged his church to visit that community, after a church member showed interest in taking the message of God\u2019s Word to family members and friends. Pastor Jahleel said the church gladly accepted the initiative and prepared by making packs of clothing, shoes, etc. to take to the community.<\/p>\n

Calichal is located about 42 kilometers from the church, high up in the mountains. About<\/p>\n

28 people of different ages made the trip in three vehicles. In spite of one setback with one of the vehicles, as the road was in bad shape, all reached their destination.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival at the community, they could see curiosity on the faces of the adults and joy on the children\u2019s, said Pastor Mart\u00ednez, secretary for the Evangelism Committee for the Honduras Northwestern District.<\/p>\n

Small groups were formed to invite, visit, and evangelize. An open air service was held in the center of the community, and people approached little by little to hear a message by the evangelist Julio Rivera.<\/p>\n

Then the presents brought from the church were given to the people. \u201cOne principle of our church is to see to the spiritual aspect of the needy as well as their physical needs,\u201d said Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n

The children had fun with the pi\u00f1atas and received what the church gave with joy and appreciation.<\/p>\n

Mart\u00ednez said that one of the community leaders approached and said he was very happy to see a church that was different from others. He noticed that, in addition to the message and the interest in adults, they had come prepared to pay attention to the children. This made the person willing to help however necessary and also opened the door to form a connection with the Tolupan community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe give all glory and honor to God for allowing the church to continue reaching places and people who need to hear the message of salvation and holiness. The gratitude is also for those who participated in providing clothing, money, transportation, and who participated in going and praying,\u201d said Mart\u00ednez. \u201cHelp us in praying for the Church of the Nazarene to rise up in the Tolupan town!\u201d<\/p>\n
