{"id":68741,"date":"2021-04-21T17:00:07","date_gmt":"2021-04-21T23:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/?p=68741"},"modified":"2021-05-10T19:05:57","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T01:05:57","slug":"resurrection-the-church-that-arose-after-disaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/en\/resurrection-the-church-that-arose-after-disaster\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cResurrection\u201d, the Church that Arose After Disaster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On April 11 the Iglesia del Nazareno of the North Verapaz District celebrated the organization of the Iglesia del Nazareno &#8220;Resurrecci\u00f3n&#8221; (Resurrection Church of the Nazarene) in the Cakcualtzul community, in the municipality of San Pedro Carch\u00e1, Guatemala.<\/p>\n<p>The name &#8220;Resurrecci\u00f3n&#8221; is due to the fact that the mission emerged after the storms Eta and Iota strongly affected the Campur community, where the \u201cmother church\u201d is found, \u201cSegunda Iglesia del Nazareno de Campur\u201d (Campur Second Church of the Nazarene). Many of the members had damages and the sanctuary became a supply center and a place for emergency meetings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis long-suffering church with a servant\u2019s heart and the Spirit\u2019s power has given birth to a new congregation,\u201d said Francisco Cho, North Verapaz District Superintendent.<\/p>\n<p>Reverend Hermelindo Pop, pastor of the mother church, in a special ceremony, handed over the Cakcualtzul Mission to Reverend Cho for its organization. That same day the council was installed along with the presidents of the following ministries: Nazarene Youth International, Nazarene Missions International, Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries, and Evangelism. Each received useful materials to carry out their ministry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a blessing God has given us to continue fulfilling the Mission He gave us. How wonderful it is to do God\u2019s work! God is working on the growth of the North Verapaz District,\u201d said Pastor Pop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the floods this seems to be a resurrection of God\u2019s work through His church. This blessing is considered a confirmation of Jesus saying, \u2018the gates of Hell will not prevail against it\u2019.
