{"id":56722,"date":"2019-06-13T15:02:51","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T21:02:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/?p=56722"},"modified":"2019-06-13T15:02:51","modified_gmt":"2019-06-13T21:02:51","slug":"the-church-of-the-nazarene-in-mesoamerica-welcomes-new-missionaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/en\/the-church-of-the-nazarene-in-mesoamerica-welcomes-new-missionaries\/","title":{"rendered":"The Church of the Nazarene in Mesoamerica Welcomes New Missionaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mesoamerica Region of the Church of the Nazarene, along with Mesoamerica Regional Director Dr. Carlos S\u00e1enz, welcomes missionaries AJ and Chelsea Fry and Michael and Jamie Askew.<\/p>\n<p>The Frys will serve as the Work and Witness Coordinators in the Dominican Republic.\u00a0 They have been serving in the Dominican Republic in Work and Witness for two years, but now will transition to serving in the entire country.\u00a0 The Askews will serve as the Work and Witness Coordinators in Haiti beginning in August of this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AJ and Chelsea Fry:<\/strong> Chelsea grew up in Arkansas, USA, and AJ grew up in Kansas, USA. They met at MidAmerica Nazarene University, where AJ studied ministry and Chelsea studied business. \u00a0After graduation they served in church planting, at a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry center, and in youth ministry. They were both recently ordained in the Florida District, which is their home district.\u00a0 Both recognize their call to cross-cultural ministry, and note that God has continued to confirm it in their marriage.<\/p>\n<p>Two years ago they began serving in the Dominican Republic as Project Coordinators for the Center of Missionary Formation, where they hosted several Work and Witness teams.<\/p>\n<p>AJ and Chelseas said, \u201cAs we start our new position as Work and Witness Coordinators for the Dominican Republic, we hope to encourage the local congregations to be bold in sharing the Good News with their own communities, see more churches birthed on all 5 districts, and raise up National leaders. \u00a0We know the Lord is doing amazing things in the Dominican Republic already and we cannot wait to partner with the existing projects to see how to further the Kingdom of God more effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael and Jamie Askew:<\/strong>\u00a0 The Askews have four children: Kaitlynn, Kennidy, Kylierose y Kanaan.\u00a0 They recently completed 6.5 years of ministries as pastors at the Kirksville Church of the Nazarene in Kirksville, MO, USA.\u00a0 Prior to that they spent 2 years planting a church on the Island of Pohnpei in The Federated States Micronesia.
