\u201cI know who I am\u201d was the theme for this year\u2019s Guyana: Demerara \/ Essequibo District held Children\u2019s Camp held April 24-27 at Camp Wesleyan.\u00a0 Ninety-five campers and workers attended from across the district.<\/p>\n
The event was divided into a teaching session, discussion session and evangelistic session.\u00a0 During the teaching session, the children learned that God created them fearfully and wonderfully in His own image.<\/p>\n
Those teaching sessions were further developed in discussion sessions, which allowed the children to use crafts and their talents to reaffirm the lesson.\u00a0 The evangelistic sessions focused on the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Around 60 children made the decision to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.<\/p>\n
The children were also encouraged to share their faith using the Share Your Faith model and the evangebands.<\/p>\n
Camp organizers also took the opportunity to focus on the social concerns of the children.\u00a0 Officers from the Ministry of Social Protection \u2013 Child Protection Agency conducted an interactive session on child abuse.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe continue to give God all the glory for all our partners who contributed to making Camp 2019 a success,\u201d said Rev. Neilford Chase,<\/p>\n
