{"id":55038,"date":"2019-03-29T19:37:51","date_gmt":"2019-03-30T01:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/?p=55038"},"modified":"2019-03-29T19:37:51","modified_gmt":"2019-03-30T01:37:51","slug":"remembering-the-life-of-julia-valencia-flores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mesonaz.org\/en\/remembering-the-life-of-julia-valencia-flores\/","title":{"rendered":"Remembering the Life of Julia Valencia Flores"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Founding Member of Church of the Nazarene in Guadalajara<\/p>\n<p>Julia Valencia Flores, an instrumental individual in the Church of the Nazarene in Mexico, passed away on March 5, 2019.\u00a0 She was part of the generation who began the work of the Church of the Nazarene in Guadalajara, Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Sister Julia came to the church thanks to the influence of her uncle, Juan Flores, who belonged to a group of evangelical Christians called \u201cJesus the Nazarene.\u201d\u00a0 They had come out of the Baptist Church because of disagreements over the doctrine of sanctification and holy healing.\u00a0 In this group, Julia\u2019s father, P\u00e1nfil, gave his life to the Lord. Her mother, Simona, made the same decision later.\u00a0 Led by Pastor V\u00edctor God\u00ednez the group joined with the Church of the Nazarene on Dec. 3, 1933.<\/p>\n<p>Julia met a young man named Francisco who was attracted to the church by the choir.\u00a0 Julia was a choir member for many years.\u00a0 The two eventually married and started a family.<\/p>\n<p>Julia, along with her husband, had a powerful influence over the lives of her children, who became servants and leaders devoted to enlarging the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n<p>Their surviving children are: \u00a0Francisco C\u00f3rdova, Abigail C\u00f3rdova, Priscila C\u00f3rdova, Isaac C\u00f3rdova, Gamaliel C\u00f3rdova, Samuel C\u00f3rdova, and Jorge C\u00f3rdova, who serves as the Field Strategy Coordinator in Mexico for the Mesoamerica Region.\u00a0 Daniel C\u00f3rdova and Eunice C\u00f3rdova are already in the presence of the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jorge C\u00f3rdova remembers his mother always encouraging her children to praise God with their voices and talents.\u00a0 Both parents prayed that their children would give their lives in service to God.\u00a0 Three of them have served or are currently serving as pastors: Daniel for more than seven years in Guadalajara and Leon; Samuel in Neosho, Missouri, USA since 2004; and Jorge in Guadalajara from 1990 until now.\u00a0 Dr. Jorge added that his mother was a woman of prayer.\u00a0 She served and helped those in need.\u00a0 She gave three pieces of advice to her children: Love God above all else, serve God with your families, and never lift your hand against a servant of God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thank God for allowing us to have a mother who taught us the path of salvation and the beautiful and privileged passion to serve God with all our hearts,\u201d said son Samuel C\u00f3rdova.<\/p>\n<p>Keep the children, grandchildren and other family members in your prayers as they face the difficult loss of their beloved Julia Valencia Flores.<\/p>\n<p>Source:
