Yesterday, October 11th, 2016, the Haiti NCM coordinator, David Campos, sent a report on the state of the Church of the Nazarene in the newly formed Grand ‘Anse district; which was the most affected after hurricane Mathew hit Haiti. The district has a total of 33 churches and 5 church-type missions.<\/p>\n

– There are only 2 sanctuaries in good condition, only 15% of the roof was damaged (Bounjoly, La cour and Cagousse).
\n– So far, the death of one member of the Church of the Nazarene has been reported. We have yet to receive reports from the most remote churches.
\n– 536 Nazarene families were affected. This number will increase towards the middle of this week, as more pastors give their reports.
\n– 14 Nazarene churches were visited.
\n– Most of the parsonages visited had collapsed.<\/p>\n

The Grand ‘Anse District Superintendent, Joseph Esperance, sent a message of gratitude: “I know that the field office was trying to contact me after the hurricane passed and it was difficult, but thank you very much for your support in prayer and for the Church of the Nazarene for sending a team to assess the damage in our district. God bless you”<\/p>\n
