In her update of the state of Haiti, sent on October 10th, 2016, by the missionary Erika Chaves of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, she said that David Campos, her husband and Haiti NCM Coordinator is working with the superintendent of the newly formed Grand-Anse district, Joseph Esperance, doing surveys and checking the state of the churches. Although it has not yet been possible to receive the exact data of the damage due to lack of Internet signal, it is a fact that the district is totally devastated.<\/p>\n

She also reported that the first and most urgent need is food and water, as well as places of temporary shelter (tents, awnings, etc.). This morning they sent 100 food parcels containing rice, beans, canned fish, spaghetti and oil, to help 100 families in Grand-Anse, as well as 500 hygiene kits and about 75 tents. They still have 100 food parcels ready on campus waiting to be sent.<\/p>\n

She also said: “David is working to create distribution centers. However, compared with the great need, our help will be “small”, though it helps us to respond to our brothers in the church. So we’re seeing if there is a possibility of partnering with other organizations using our structure as a church. But this is a process; there is nothing definite yet. David and Lars are also working with Global NCM and NCMI to see what is the best answer as a global church. ”<\/p>\n

We continue in prayer for the Haitian people and our leaders, coordinators, superintendent and pastors. We continue to motivate God’s people to donate to help our brothers and their communities.<\/p>\n
