On October 30th<\/sup>, 2014, the Guatemala North Verapaz District held the First Evangelism Convention in Guatemala, 80 churches from the district and other visitors attended the event. After an analysis of the evangelistic work for over a hundred years, the district leadership decided to conduct a new approach to evangelism that resulted in holding this event.<\/p>\n

This event was blessed with the presence of national, regional and global leader such as: Dr. Gustavo Crocker, General Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene; Dr. Carlos Saenz, Mesoamerica Regional Director; Rev. Ulises Solis, Interim Field Strategy Coordinator for the North Central Field; Rev. Leonel de Leon, New Field Strategy Coordinator for the Mesoamerica North Central Field, and Rev. Dr. Louis Bustle, former World Mission Director of Church of the Nazarene.<\/p>\n

The district was very happy and blessed to have the participation of the Rev. Gustavo Crocker, who is the first General Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene of Latin American origin, born in Baja Verapaz. Dr. Crocker spoke the theme “We saw only Feet”, speaking on the feet of those who came to watch with curiosity the first Nazarenes services in Coban and feet of those who now preach the gospel to the entire width of Guatemala and Central America.<\/p>\n

Rev. Danilo Solis, District Superintendent said that the church should aim to reach all Guatemalans to Christ, promoting person-to-person evangelism and the provision of resources and new methodologies for evangelism since 2015. Dr. Carlos Saenz, Mesoamerica Regional Director, considered this first convention a success.<\/p>\n

National and local journalists listed the event as society\u2019s impact news, since the Church is preaching the message of salvation in Christ providing an opportunity for social transformation.<\/p>\n
