The community called El Admirante, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is in the process of organizing a new church because of the Genesis Project, with the goal of transform this city neighborhood by neighborhood. During August, Alejandra and Freya have provided their reports and here are some of the comments:<\/p>\n
“August was a different month regarding the evangelism strategies we used.<\/em> We decided to organize a dual baby shower for two women who visit the mission. The time we spent together made them feel very special, not just them but also the guests.<\/em> It was a time where we played, had fun and the most special time was praying for them and the coming babies girls.<\/em> Although they have not yet made a decision for Christ, we believe it was a good way to make them feel part of the family in Christ.<\/em><\/p>\n We started a Bible study group on Thursday\u2019s nights at Sister<\/em> Mayra\u2019s house (where we also hold children\u2019s activities on Saturdays). We saw the need for this study in that place since most people who visit the church live on that street, and also are closer to where the sanctuary will be.<\/em> We have approximately thirteen people (adults and children) attending.<\/em><\/p>\n We also celebrated Gloria Esther\u2019s birthday at her house as being a part of the family of faith and were able to fellowship with some of those who attend the mission and her friends.<\/em><\/p>\n August 24th<\/sup> was a blessing for us. It was the day we began collecting offerings. It was a special time when God touched the life of this mission and from that time on we have been collecting the offerings on Sunday and at people\u2019s request also at the prayer meeting on Wednesdays.<\/em> We think they have understood the importance of giving and that that money is for the Lord’s work.”<\/em><\/p>\n The missionaries from Veracruz were working hard in the community called La Loma, as Rene, Daniela and Marvin tell it:<\/p>\n “We visited different people every Wednesdays and Thursdays to follow up on discipleship.<\/em> Four sisters and the pastor of the church have been accompanying us on each visit.<\/em> We have visited and prayed for the sick.<\/em> We are conducting worship on Wednesdays where some new families are attending. “<\/em><\/p>\n Help us pray for these communities that in turn, this discipleship reaches other disciples, fulfilling our goal of transforming our cities.
