After praying for 4 \u00bd years for the Lord to grant them a house to live, Pastor Autoaissains Civil of Jacmel and his family, received the Lord’s response in August 2014. A group of the Yakima Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Washington, USA came to Haiti to work on building them a house. The house of 500 square feet is resistant to earthquakes and hurricanes, has 3 bedrooms, a toilet, a kitchen and a living room. It was built of concrete with a tin roof, metal doors and windows.<\/p>\n
The family lost their home in the earthquake of January 2010. The only place they found to live was in the property of a Nazarene Church. It was a room in poor condition. Together with his wife, 2 children and grandchildren they moved into this structure, they lived there for four and a half years. All that time, they prayed to the Lord for a better place to live.<\/p>\n
It is noteworthy to say that when the Haiti W&W (Work & Witness) Ministry does a project, it does it with the collaboration of the local congregation who gathers materials, provides labor, and gives food to the masons, among other things. The basic foundation and walls are built by masons and the church before the W& W team arrives, and then they joined to complete the construction.<\/p>\n
Darin Kucey, Haiti W&W Coordinator said: “I think this type of partnership is of vital importance to the people of Haiti and also for the W&W team. Each team gets to work with the church members, after having finished the building they dedicate it to God on the last night, celebrating together. ”<\/p>\n
Because of the great need that pastors have in Haiti, the Lord is mobilizing groups and individuals to bless them. In 2014, W&W has built two Haitian parsonages and other 2 are on schedule to be built this fall.<\/p>\n
