On May 29, 2014, Mesoamerica Global Mission held its first regional retreat. Scott and Emily Armstrong, coordinators of this ministry, developed 4 full days of activities for the 6 field coordinators: Mar\u00eda Eugenia Rodr\u00edguez (Mexico North Field), Claudia Cruz (Mexico South Field), Odily Diaz (CA -4 Field), Erika Chaves (Central Field), Lynda Woolford (English Field) and Kesner Absolu (French Field); Milton Gay, Regional NYI coordinator participated in this event.<\/p>\n

Devotional, prayer and intercession times, group dynamics, meetings, ministry assessment, and personal sessions were done as a team during these 4 days, among others things. But mostly, it was a time to re-launch the vision of the Mesoamerica Global Mission in each field, because even though the approach is already known, it is good to remember it. Also, it was a time to challenge each coordinator to plan their work for the coming year and develop a support team along with the districts that can help discover, develop and deploy <\/i><\/b>missionaries, so that in one way or another the final goal: to make Christ-like disciples in the nations, is achieved.<\/p>\n

For that matter, one of the main challenges is to achieve unanimity of ministries at the local, district and field level, despite the interests of each department, to be able to develop a team culture together, knowing that the common denominator is that every disciple of Christ of any age. \u00a0Step by step this great wheel will gain a momentum to impact the all the fields. On the other hand, these 6 coordinators have participated in short and long term mission projects, so they know these experiences and are willing to continue preparing workers for the urban harvest; working together with the Genesis regional initiative.<\/p>\n

Coordinators are working on projects for each field such as the Children’s Cross Cultural Orientation (Mexico North Field), implementing Maximum Mission for the first time \u00a0(Haiti and Dominican Republic), the comprehensive care of the Genesis missionaries \u00a0(Mexico South), training on the Youth Ministry Certificate (CA-4) and new volunteer opportunities focused on the community (English Caribbean). In addition to this development and the many tasks of this team, having a retreat was a valuable time to renovate, build and deepen relationships between three languages and bring fresh vision of what God wants to continue doing in Mesoamerica Region.<\/p>\n
